Damon Anthony Davis
B.S., University of Texas at Austin, 1996
Damon is a first-generation college graduate, earning his BS degree in Civil Engineering with High Honors from the University of Texas at Austin’s Cockrell School of Engineering in 1996. He was very active during his time at UT, including serving as President of Tau Beta Pi, and was also the recipient of the John A. Focht Endowed Presidential Scholarship in Civil Engineering. After graduation, Damon immediately went to work for ExxonMobil USA as a Project Engineer in Houston, Texas, quickly rising through the ranks in a variety of technical, planning, and leadership positions. His notable roles include Business Analysis & Reporting Manager, Fuels and Lubricants Company, ExxonMobil Downstream Business Services in Fairfax, Virginia, and Vice President, Synthetics, ExxonMobil Chemical Company in Houston, Texas, where he led the largest synthetics basestocks manufacturer in the world to record-breaking sales and earnings.
One of Damon’s most significant contributions to ExxonMobil and the industry was during his tenure as the Asia Pacific Marine Fuels General Manager for ExxonMobil Fuels & Lubricants in Singapore from 2011 to 2013. In this role, Damon spearheaded a groundbreaking initiative to revolutionize the bunkering process by implementing mass flow meters onboard bunker barges, in collaboration with the Singapore Marine Port Authority. This effort resulted in the first certified mass flow meter bunker delivery and led to a mandate for all licensed Singapore bunker deliveries to utilize this advanced measurement technology by 2017. Damon’s leadership in this initiative has significantly enhanced quantity assurance, supported Singapore’s reputation as a reliable and ethical bunker port, and established the Marine Port Authority’s leadership in bunkering practices.
Damon has maintained a strong connection with the University of Texas over the years, serving as a recruiter for ExxonMobil, guest lecturer, mentor, and participant at the CAEE Industry Open House. He is also involved in the Chancellor’s Council and the Littlefield Society and is a Life Member of the Texas Exes. Damon and his wife Amy are dedicated financial supporters of the Cockrell School and the CAEE Department, having endowed a Presidential Scholarship, a Student Scholarship, and an Excellence Fund. Through their contributions and active engagement, Damon and Amy continue to support and inspire the next generation of engineering leaders.
