UT Austin: Application Procedures
Brazilian students are selected to participate in the C3E2T through a competitive process. After this, they must still go through the application process for exchange students at the University of Texas. This is handled by the UT International Office, and the UT exchange coordinator will provide all information necessary to complete the application. There are approximately 4,500 international students representing over 115 countries enrolled at UT. Because of the large volume, it is very important that C3E2T exchange students follow the instructions below in a timely fashion. Read more information for exchange students here. 1)An original transcript from your university.
No university in the United States will accept a regular student or exchange
student without an original transcript showing grades at their home universities
(with seals, stamps, signatures, etc.). Graduate students (pós-graduação)
will also need to provide original transcripts from the university where
they did their undergraduate (graduação) degree. 2) Immigration and Financial Support Form. This
form is used by the UT International Office to prepare student visa applications.
Applicants must state any dependents that will accompany them to Texas
(wife/husband/children), and the full legal name and birthdate of each.
Applicants must also state the funds on which they will
support themselves and their dependents while in Texas, including their
BCSP scholarship and personal funds. This is to prove that they will not
need to work while you are in the U.S., and student vissa will not be
approved without this information. A single person needs to prove they will have $4,000 available
to live on, and any dependents will require an additional amount. Applicants
should know what award you will receive from CAPES. If they have a formal
letter informing them of the amount, they should include a copy. If not,
students should let the Brazil Center know and we will write a letter
certifying that they will receive the scholarship. Applicants will also need to show that they have at least
the remaining amount in their (or their parents') bank account. This can
be proven with a letter from the bank simply saying they have more than
$X in the account, or with a copy of their bank statement. These materials
are held in the strictest privacy by the International Office, which handles
them for the thousands of international students at UT. Applicants must
sign the bottom of the fom as the applicant, but the letter or statement
just described must substitute for the PARENT/SPONSOR or BANK signature
on the form.
