Connecting ArcView and Access
ODBC: Open DataBase Connectivity
permits direct queries of tabular data
Notes:
We can then use an Open DataBase Connectivity driver to import data from a table or query in Access to a table in ArcView, which is the GIS software we are using for this project. The procedure is simple, and it allows for the integration of tabular and spatial data. Once a table has been imported into ArcView, it can be joined to an existing coverage or used to create a new coverage, because remember that the location coordinates are present in the database. Every time the ArcView project is opened, the database will be requeried, thus obtaining any updated information.
