Work Update - connecting ISBL and OSBL

This document is a supplement to Using ArcView as a User Interface for naUTilus, written as the term project document for CE397 - GIS in Water Resources. It describes work done on my research project since the end of the 1997 Spring semester. This document deals with work done to connect the OSBL and ISBL portions of a sewer network.

• Created the script START.
  This script will connect the OSBL and ISBL portions of a sewer network. It is important that the files be set up in a specified manner for this script to run.

• Created the script TABLES.
  This script consolidates the functions of some previously written scripts. It creates the tables required to write the naUTilus input file. It was created for organizational purposes. It should be run only once for each ISBL unit. It also saves the locations of the created tables to an Object Database file, so that they can be easily located while not permanently stored in the project. This avoids confusion with tables of identical name. Each table created is saved in the ISBL directory for which it functions. Most tables created through this script are empty and no scripts which must be run by Apply events are opened by TABLES. This script is run when called by INITTABS.

• Created the script INITTABS.
  This script, along with TABLES helps to create the tables needed for creating the naUTilus input files. It also utilizes previously written scripts. It fills in the tables regarding drain data, connectivity, and branch data. INITTABS also runs the script TABLES and should be run only once per ISBL unit.
