• Summing of carcinogenic effects

  • Cumulative Target Risk (CTR) = IELCR1 +IELCR2 + IELCR3 + ... + IELCRn
    • CTR > 10-4 to 10-6 = further chemical-specific evaluation required.
    • CTR < 10-4 to 10-6 = acceptable risk, no action required from a human health perspective.
  • several simultaneous exposures to sub-threshold exposures could result in adverse health effects.
  • sum only for chemical(s) of concern having adverse effects on the same organ.
