Mingwei Cai

I obtained my B.S. degree from Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture in China. Later, I obtained my M.S. degree from Northwestern University in the United States. I joined the MUSE group in 2020 and I am pursuing a Ph.D. degree under the supervision of Prof. Kallivokas. I focus on wave propagation in solids and on the inverse problem. My research relates to subsurface imaging using full waveform inversion.

Taemin Heo

My name is Taemin Heo. I received B.S. and M.S. degrees in Civil Environmental Engineering from Seoul National University in South Korea. I joined UT CAEE MUSE in Fall 2018 for a Ph.D. degree under the supervision of Professor Lance Manuel. I am interested in stochastic processes. Currently, I am studying reliability, resilience and future risk increases of the spatiotemporal stochastic systems along with climate change.

Ashkan Ali Madadi

I obtained my B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Civil Engineering from the Sharif University of Technology in Tehran, Iran. I joined UT Austin in Fall 2021 under the supervision of Prof. Berkin Dortdivanlioglu. My research is mainly related to the modeling of coupled field theories and their applications to hydrogels.

Animesh Rastogi

I graduated in 2020 with a B.Tech. degree in Civil Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar, India. I joined UT CAEE in Fall 2020 as a graduate student under the supervision of Prof. Berkin Dortdivanlioglu. My current research focuses on investigating the role of energetic surfaces of soft solids using advanced computational techniques. Outside of research, I enjoy traveling, socializing, and reading about geopolitics, history, and philosophy. I am also deeply passionate about ancient Indian knowledge systems.
