Toxicity Assessment
Non-cancer effects
- an effect that impacts the development, size, or functioning of the whole body or body specific organs (including the skin and the central nervous system), but does not lead to the development of malignant cells.
- toxicity threshold represents the dose below which adverse health effects are not expected to occur.
- potential for adverse effects increase as dose increases above toxicity threshold.
- Reference Dose (RfD) / Reference Concentration (RfC)
- estimate of the daily intake over a lifetime that is not likely to result in any significant adverse health effects (including in sensitive subpopulations).
