Bio
Teaching and practicing concurrently since 2001, Gregory Brooks is a professor of practice at The University of Texas at Austin as well as a design partner at BMH Design Studio.

At UT Austin, he is responsible for a two-semester required design-studio sequence in the architectural engineering program, which focuses on preliminary design concepts for multidisciplinary building design. This includes architectural, structural, mechanical, sustainability, and construction systems, as well as the integration of these concepts during the design process. He is also a liaison between the CAEE department and professional firms and directs the UT Study Abroad summer program ‘Emerging Technologies’ in London, England and in Japan. He is also the founder of the website AEWorldMap.com, which tracks ambitious international architectural projects and the teams that design and build them.

Prior to working at UT, Gregory Brooks worked in nationally acclaimed architecture firms for 15 years, including six years in the offices of Charles Moore, FAIA. During this phase of his career, he helped to design and build over 120 buildings, including museums, churches, university facilities, office buildings, retail spaces and private residences. In 2001, he opened his own design firm, specializing in modern homes and small commercial projects. In 2011, he joined forces with Patrice Mailloux-Huberdeau to form BMH Design Studio in Austin, Texas.
