Since 1921, the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) at the University of Texas has been an intergral part and perfect compliment to the educational experience and career preparation for civil engineering students here at the University of Texas at Austin. Civil engineering students who have joined ASCE will have a greater understanding of their career interests and opportunities from the knowledge they receive at our chapter meetings from industry professionals.

Members that get involved gain technical understanding from team competitions such as the Steel Bridge and Concrete Canoe competitions. We gain leadership experience through responsibilities within the society. We enjoy camaraderie within our ASCE family and establish lifelong professional and personal friendships. We shape and improve the community through outreach opportunities to serve the environment and the people.
