This distinguished recognition celebrates his exceptional contributions to the field of transportation, particularly through his outstanding teaching, mentorship, research, and public service.
Dr. Tyler Dick is an Assistant Professor in the Fariborz Maseeh Department of Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. Before joining the university in 2022, he spent a decade at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) as a Research Associate Professor, Lecturer, and Principal Research Engineer. His work focuses on railway design, operations, and capacity, as well as alternative energy solutions for the rail industry. At The University of Texas at Austin, Dr. Tyler Dick leads a team of graduate students conducting research for Class 1 railroads, transportation agencies, and industry sponsors, further advancing innovation in railway operations.
