Join us for a technical symposium celebrating the distinguished career of Professor Kenneth H. Stokoe II, who retires after more than 50 years of exemplary faculty service at the University of Texas at Austin.
Professor Stokoe’s groundbreaking work in soil dynamics and geotechnical earthquake engineering, including his pioneering advances in laboratory and in-situ measurement of dynamic soil properties, has shaped the discipline and inspired generations of engineers. He has notably mentored more than 50 Ph.D. students, leaving an enduring legacy of scholarship and leadership.
The symposium will feature technical presentations and personal remembrances from many of Professor Stokoe’s former students and professional colleagues from both academia and practice, highlighting his profound influence on the field. The event will be followed by a reception and dinner in the evening, and the celebration will continue with the Lymon C. Reese Lecture the following day.
All faculty, students and engineering professionals are warmly invited to join us to honor Professor Stokoe’s remarkable contributions.
