As a world-leading authority in the field of reinforced concrete and a pioneer of performance-based seismic design, Park has provided guidance on deformation-based strength models for building structures. Park is a professor in the Department of Architecture & Architectural Engineering at Seoul National University, Korea. Park has previously served as president of the Korea Concrete Institute and is a member of two national academies in Korea.
