Holistic Admissions

Texas CAEE has waived the GRE requirement for Fall 2025 admissions. This change is aligned with our holistic admissions process.

Degree Options

Earn a doctoral degree using a custom learning plan to ensure expertise in innovative research frontiers; typically completed in five to six years.

We offer a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Civil Engineering. Applicants interested in graduate studies in Architectural Engineering should apply to Civil Engineering.

Within the CAEE graduate program, students are asked to choose from one of our areas of study listed below.

Earn a master’s degree to advance your career; typically completed in two to three years.

We offer a Master of Science in Engineering degree in Civil Engineering and Environmental and Water Resources Engineering.

Work alongside our world-renowned faculty on complex problems surrounding the nexus of cities, water and energy. Within the CAEE graduate program, students are asked to choose from one of our areas of study listed below.

Graduate applicants are expected to have an undergraduate degree in engineering. However, exceptional candidates with other undergraduate degrees can be considered for admission, but will be required to complete additional undergraduate leveling courses before beginning graduate work. The leveling courses will depend on the student’s background.
