Oguzhan Bayrak has been selected to receive the American Concrete Institute (ACI) Chester Paul Siess Award for Excellence in Structural Research.
The annual award honors a paper that describes a notable achievement in experimental or analytical research that advances the theory or practice of structural engineering and, most importantly, recommends how the research can be applied to design.
The honor, bestowed by the ACI Board of Direction at its fall 2014 meeting, was awarded specifically for Bayrak's "coauthored paper examining several concrete stress block design expressions for high-strength concrete in the context of ACI 318 Code," published in October 2013.
Formal announcment will be made at the Opening Session and Awards Program in Spring 2015 in Kansas City, MO.
