Professor James O'Connor has been elected to the National Academy of Construction. He is recognized for widely-used contributions to the establishment and implementation of best practices in the construction industry.

The National Academy of Construction (NAC) consists of industry leaders whose present or past professional career demonstrated outstanding contribution to the effectiveness of the engineering and construction industry.

Members of the NAC are selected based on significant contributions to the effectiveness of the engineering and construction industry over a period of several years and are recognized as industry leaders by his or her peers. Members make significant contributions in areas such as technology, work process, safety, working relationships, tools, communications, education, and cost/schedule effectiveness.

O'Connor will be inducted at the annual meeting in October 2014.
