
Nine alumni from the Department of Civil, Architectural & Environmental Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin will be inducted into the Academy of Distinguished Alumni this November.
The inductees are James Stephen Ford (MS 1974, PhD 1977), Bilal Hamad (MS 1979, PhD 1990),
H.S. Lew (PhD 1967), Leo Linbeck III (MS 1978), Donald Meinheit (PhD 1977), Alexis Sacre (MS 1977), Jerald Schnoor (MS 1974, PhD 1975),
Grant Ray Thompson (BS 1975, MS 1977), and Dean Van Landuyt (BS 1982, MS 1991).
Each of the new inductees is distinguished in their field, a leader in the community, and has made outstanding contributions to the department. They also serve as excellent role models for students and their careers illustrate the great things that our alumni have accomplished around the world.
The Academy of Distinguished Alumni currently has 79 members – a significant honor considering the department has over 10,000 living alumni.
The new distinguished alumni will be inducted into the Academy at the department’s annual alumni banquet on November 11, 2011.
