Research in the Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering is a vital part of what we do, and it is also one of our strengths. Our faculty are nationally and internationally recognized for their research efforts. They work closely with students using state-of-the-art technologies to produce new materials, systems, and processes in response to critical changes facing our country and globally.
The department is divided into six research groups, representing the various disciplines of CAEE. Most CAEE laboratories are located in either Ernest Cockrell Jr. Hall (ECJ) or at the J.J. Pickle Research Campus in north Austin.
