Technical Interests:

Professor Kerry Kinney’s research in environmental engineering focuses on the investigation of microorganisms in buildings as well as the development of treatment technologies for environmental contaminants. Her research team investigates microbial communities that develop in homes, schools, commercial buildings and water systems with the goal of identifying microorganisms that are potentially harmful to human health as well as those that are potentially beneficial. Dr. Kinney also collaborates with other researchers in chemical and civil engineering to develop treatment technologies for contaminants generated from a variety of municipal and industrial sources.
